Manufacturing and Engineering Associate (MEA) program at General Mills’ Supply Chain

Job Summary

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF MANUFACTURING AT GENERAL MILLS?

General Mills’ Supply Chain is one of the most respected supply chains in the industry today. Manufacturing is the sub-function of Global Supply Chain that makes food the world loves. Manufacturing takes raw materials and transforms them into the products we sell to customers. Products are packaged in a variety of formats for sale to grocery, clubs, and food service.

WHAT WILL I DO?

The Manufacturing and Engineering Associate (MEA) program is designed to prepare you for both technical and managerial leadership roles within General Mills. You’ll make an impact by:

  • Building your capability through exposure and ownership of processing, packaging and broad manufacturing systems.
  • Gaining front line exposure to 24/7 production to leverage problem solving and learning agility while driving improvements and eliminating losses.
  • Learning from and leading Operators, Technicians and Mechanics to grow your coaching, team building and people-development skill set.
  • Managing programs to gain experiences of capital project ownership, new system startups and / or initiative leadership.

The fast-paced MEA full-time rotational program consists of 18 months of development, focused on preparing MEAs for technical skill development and people leadership experiences in both Manufacturing and Engineering. MEAs will be placed in one manufacturing plant location for the duration of the program. At their program’s completion, MEAs will be placed into a full-time role in manufacturing leadership or engineering based on a combination of business need and personal interest. Typically, this placement is within the same facility that the MEA completes their program in; but the opportunity to relocate to another manufacturing site is possible.WHERE WILL I WORK?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree in: Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Food Process, or Biological/Biosystems/Agricultural or related degree
  • Qualifications for MEA Milling roles: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Milling Science, Food Science, or related degree
  • Graduating in Winter 2025 or Spring 2026

Reliability Engineer at Beyond New Horizons, Arnold AFB, Tennessee

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work as a member of the Reliability Engineering group. This group is responsible for development and implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance/Preventive Maintenance (RCM/PM) Optimization program at AEDC. Implementation of this program includes influencing Asset Managers and Asset Owners to a proactive maintenance program through a failure mode driven maintenance strategy, best practice planning & scheduling, proper application of reliability engineering principles, and the increased use of condition monitoring technologies for all assets across AEDC. This position will work closely with system engineers and the reliability engineers in the Reliability Engineering & Analytics group in ES to develop, maintain, and improve a long-term reliability and maintenance program for AEDC.

Job Duties:

  • Ultimate responsibility for the development, and implementation of RCM/PM Optimization program at AEDC; Implementation of this program includes influencing Asset Managers and Asset Owners to produce a conscientious shift to a proactive maintenance program through a failure mode driven maintenance strategy, best practice planning & scheduling, proper application of reliability engineering principles, and the increased use of condition monitoring technologies
  • Conduct training on the RCM process
  • Ensure RCM analysis on critical systems
  • Rewrite or create new PM’s or other interventions based on RCM analysis results
  • Evaluate equipment failures and maintenance records (OWAMS, E-Matrix, etc) for inefficiencies, trends, common failure modes, etc. for systemic root causes and for a proactive shift to Condition Based Maintenance
  • Prepare quarterly reports (and others as necessary) for Air Force review
  • Attend meetings with Mission Area Branch management and represent the RCM function

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of an RCM business case database sufficient to establish the financial defense of proposed asset management strategy changes

Basic Qualifications:

  • S. degree in industrial or mechanical engineering from an accredited engineering college or university NOTE: This position is specifically for those with less than 5 years’ engineering experience

Reliability Engineer at Domtar, Coosa Pines, Alabama

Job Summary: The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing reliability strategies to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of equipment in our pulp and paper manufacturing facility. This role involves analyzing equipment performance, identifying potential issues, and implementing proactive maintenance measures to prevent downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage asset maintenance plans based on rigorous testing and data analysis.

Project Engineer at SK Food Group

Reliability Engineer at IFF

Provides the technical expertise on all matters of reliability engineering, assessment and monitoring for all process equipment (including mechanical, electrical and instrument / control equipment).  Building and analyzing reliability models, also called “RAM” analysis, to estimate reliability characteristics of plant production lines and support systems.  Participates on project teams to supply advice to design engineers on the enhancement of reliability of capital projects. Carries out reliability studies on existing equipment and recommends needed improvements to Operations management in the areas of equipment philosophies, strategies and best practices for asset productivity. This position focuses on improving equipment performance versus sustaining or returning it to current performance standards.  This position is critical to the site PSM program.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as leader and/or a member of the Reliability Improvement Team; actively promote and work to instill a “reliability culture” within plant organizations and systems

Mechanical Reliability Engineer at IFF, Memphis, Tennessee

In this role you will work with site resources to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues. Work will consist of analysis of historical work completed, analysis of maintenance practices and techniques, application of preventive and predictive maintenance technologies, and defect elimination. Also, will have a high level of knowledge in at least one area or equipment type. Work is performed under general supervision.
